Israeli Startup Targetize Selected for Red
Herring 100 Europe, as one of the Most Promising Firms Driving the
Future of Technology

generation of smart mobile content search, searching the web via mobile phones

Israel ranks second in terms of
number of companies selected (18) for
the Red Herring 100 Europe “Most Promising Companies”, after England (27),
ahead of France (17), followed by Germany and Switzerland.
Red Herring, the world’s leading publication covering
innovation, technology, financing and entrepreneurial activity, today selected
the Israeli startup firm Targetize for the Red Herring 100 Europe , as one of
the “Most Promising Firms to be Driving the Future of Technology” around the
world. Targetize develops
next-generation content search solutions for the mobile web – using cell phones
to quickly and easily search and
retrieve web content to the user’s mobile handset.
The Red Herring Europe 100 (RH100) highlights the promise
and value of the top 100 technology companies in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East
and
Africa) region, in this case, out of a
field of over 700 semifinalists. The Europe
100 competition is an important tradition for Red Herring - identifying new and
promising technology companies and entrepreneurs, as well as breakthrough
technologies for tomorrow. Some of the
most famous former RH100 winners discovered in their early days, include
Google, eBay and Skype.
Targetize has developed technology using mobile handsets,
for smart web searching of web-based content and data - quickly and
easily. Relevant content is personalized
(“targetized”), and retrieved fully to the user’s mobile according to a highly
accurate personal key. The Targetize
platform is geared for use by both content providers and service providers to
provide profitable and enjoyable value added services to their subscribers. The
most popular content categories to date include music, video, sports, news and
others.
Recently, Targetize appointed Avichai Levy as CEO. Mr. Levy, one of the founders of TTI Telecom
(NASDAQ: TTIL), served there as Senior
VP of Marketing, and became a partner and owner of StarVision Partners, a
Strategic Planning Consultancy in Europe and the
Middle
East.
